Optimising your Pinterest profile can completely transform your ability to gain more traffic from the platform. I’m sure by now you know that Pinterest can be a massive funnel for getting your content seen, but the time commitment that goes along with it can be a drag.
So here are my top tips for optimising your profile to get your content seen - and it’ll only take 15 minutes!
STEP 1: Include keywords in your Pinterest Business Name! This is EXACTLY the same as with IG - your Business name should include searchable terms so that your profile shows up in a search and people who are looking for what you do can find you in a flash! You will still want want your name in there, but your keywords are KEY!
STEP 2: Add a keyword-rich description and a call to action in your Pinterest profile description. Make sure your website is linked in there and if you’re feeling really fancy, use a tracking code in your URL to see what clicks you’re getting on that CTA!
STEP 3: Update the name of your boards to use your main topic keyword for the content on that board. Then write a description (Ideally around 50 words) that uses a variety keywords to describe your content on this specific board.
BONUS: Add a profile picture that has your main keyword(s) and business name in your alt text. This isn’t so much for Pinterest, but it’s best practise for regular SEO so this is an important step in getting your profile to rank on Google!
